Nigeria is the largest economy in Africa. Since the formal establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Nigeria in February 1971, the two countries have been enjoying long-term friendly bilateral relations and fruitful economic and trade cooperation results. As of June 2023, Nigeria is China's second largest export market in Africa, second largest trading partner, the first largest contracted projects market and major investment destination.

Nigeria is a place with huge market potential and a hot land of business opportunities. On June 20, 2024, the "China-Nigeria Business Exchange" was successfully held in the Yingke Hall on the 25th floor of the North Tower of CP Center.This event is jointly organized by the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in China and Yingke Law Firm, with the full support of the Alliance of Chinese Business in Africa for Social Responsibility，China-Africa Business Council and Safe Consulting. Minister Tuggar recalled the friendly relations between China and Nigeria since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1971 and the extensive cooperation between the two countries in various industries. He said Nigeria is not only an active participant in the Belt and Road Initiative, but also an important member of multilateral cooperation mechanisms such as the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), through which Nigeria and China have realized closer interconnections in the areas of finance, trade and infrastructure.
